RP: Attack at the Ministry Who: Voldemort, Death Eaters, Ministry officials (add your tags) Where: Ministry of Magic When: 2 pm, 18 June, 2025 Rating/Warning: Character deaths Summary: Voldemort takes over the Ministry. The day had been weeks in planning. While he didn't have his book, the memories he had retrieved from the Orphanage showed him two very important details: (a) the location of the seventh and final cache which contained a powerful magical object that would destroy King's Cross and spread madness among the Muggles, just one step in purifying the Earth for wizardingkind and (b) how to take over the Ministry. When word came that the Traitor would be marrying a Potter brat, Lord Voldemort knew when he would strike. There was no better way to spoil the eve of a wedding than with utter disaster. The plans for the Ministry take over involved crafting an object that would cause a massive explosion and temporarily block all port key usage within the Ministry. The latter was of utmost importance as it meant the Dark Lord would finally get his revenge on the Betrayer. He was so close to his cherished seven-part soul. So close to omnipotence. Today he would become like the gods of old. Not even Merlin would hold a candle to Lord Voldemort. At a little before 2 p.m., Voldemort gave word to Rabastan to head to King's Cross and access his final secret. Then he waited for the Rabastan's signal and cast the spell that would activate the package inside the Ministry's lobby. When the ground shook, He thrust his wand into the air and shouted, "Obscurum Eternus." Voldemort entered the Ministry, for the first time He led the charge into battle. He was followed by the full array of his Death Eaters, werewolves, Dementors, and other allies. He smiled at the utter destruction in the lobby and then headed for the Minister's office, striking down those who dared to stand in his way--and even some who were smart enough to get out of it. | | Tuesday, September 1st, 2009 | | 9:45 pm |

A little more in depth
Personality: Voldemort is as stable as a psycopath can be. He learned long ago -- when Dumbledore visited Him the first time - to control His anger and not say too much. He is incredibly overconfident and egotistical, never losing sight of His destiny: To Sit on His Throne in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, Ruling all of Creation, Never to Die, but to Live Forever.
This confidence will be reinforced as He learns He has conquered death not once, but twice (according to Him). Between His exuding confidence, capacity for legilimency, and stunning good looks, the Dark Lord has an addictive personality.
Even at this young age, He does not suffer fools or tolerate failure. He will be very intrigued by the world He finds Himself in, intrigued enough that He'll make a few mistakes after His return.
He'll spend as much time as He can to learn about the failures of the past. While He will be equipped with this knowledge, He will be blinded by His superiority complex: He will believe He could never succumb to the infantile weakness of not learning from the past, so He will be hell bent on discovering the "real" reason for His previous falls, having convinced Himself that the truth has been hidden.
Special abilities/strengths/flaws: The Dark Lord is more accomplished in most areas of magic than most wizards could ever achieve in two lifetimes. He retains His mastery of the magical subjects taught at Hogwarts (e.g. Potions, Transfiguration) and is an accomplished legilimens/occlumens. But He does not have power to create or control Inferii, to possess, or to fly (among other powers He had). As He learns about the powers He once had, He will seek to gain them and will do so too fast. This will cause irreversible damage to His psyche and ability to control His powers. |
